Stocks-to-use is ending stocks divided by total use (exports plus domestic use). It measures how much cushion a crop carries into the next year. A lower ratio means less room for a supply shock and usually firmer basis and spreads. PGI calculates it from AAFC's official rows rather than reporting carryout alone, because a carryout in tonnes means little without the demand it has to cover.
All wheat is the only crop tighter than last year by a clear margin. Durum loosened most, despite October's cut.
All wheat: 5.650 Mt · 15.2% · 15.6% · 17.3% (tighter)
Durum: 1.350 Mt · 21.9% · 24.9% · 16.4% (looser)
Canola: 1.968 Mt · 8.9% · 9.0% · 8.6% (slightly looser)
Barley: 0.950 Mt · 9.7% · 10.2% · 9.2% (slightly looser)
Corn: 1.950 Mt · 10.6% · 11.4% · 10.3% (flat)
Soybeans: 0.400 Mt · 5.1% · 6.9% · 4.6% (slightly looser)

Every crop's ending stocks fell from September. Canola barely moved (−11 kt). All wheat, durum and barley tightened on higher export forecasts (+0.25, +0.25 and +0.10 Mt). Corn fell 0.15 Mt as AAFC cut the 2025-26 carry-in. Soybean stocks fell 25% on higher domestic use and a smaller carry-in.
